Dracula

A dark, Gothic retelling of Dracula told through stop-motion animation, I was influenced by Roman-era Transylvania, then known as Dacia, particularly around the stories of the famous golden spirals. It's set in the late medieval times, around 1400, so the characters are dressed in houppelandes and cote-hardie dresses with gores and dramatic bombard sleeves. The armatures of the vampire characters are visible, thin glass 'skin' pulled over their skeletons painted like the stained glass of churches. Theoretically directed by the late David Lynch, this film is eerie and haunting.
